Unlike relaxation or Swedish massage, which uses lighter pressure, deep tissue massage involves slow, deliberate strokes and deep finger, thumb, or elbow pressure to release chronic muscle tension and adhesions (knots).

This technique focuses on realigning muscle fibers and breaking down scar tissue that can restrict movement or cause discomfort. It is especially beneficial for individuals dealing with chronic pain, postural issues, repetitive strain injuries, or recovery from intense physical activity. During a deep tissue session, the therapist often works on specific problem areas such as the neck, shoulders, lower back, or legs. Although some discomfort may occur during the process, it should not be painful communication between therapist and client is essential to ensure effectiveness and comfort.

Regular deep tissue massage can enhance flexibility, improve blood flow, reduce inflammation, and promote faster healing of muscle strains, ultimately supporting long-term musculoskeletal health and relaxation.
